Program & Services
Our programs and services are based on current trends and research
that demonstrates the multiple barriers women face upon reentry.
Having grown to help meet these specific needs, Women ARISE has
developed the following programs that reach beyond Wayne County to
targeted women returning from jail or prison:
HIRE ME — Help Insure Real Empowerment through Meaningful
Employment funded by the Hudson-Webber Foundation, is a
collaborative between Women ARISE and Goodwill Industries-Detroit that
concentrates on moving women with criminal justice system involvement
into the workforce.
PROVE — Post Release Opportunities for Vocational Education
has a goal of extending post release services with vocational
training and higher education for women. As part of the PROVE
initiative Women ARISE staff provided screening inside the women's
prison for possible admission to the program.
inSIDEout RESOURCE CENTER was funded through the
McGregor Fund and Community Foundation of Southeast Michigan in the
Spring of 2006. The formation of this center is in response to the
increasing number of 'cold calls' the agency received for services.
The Resource Center provides a safe and secure environment to facilitate
linkages to other community services, as well as the support services
provided on-site.
In addition to the available programs Women ARISE provides the following individual and group services which are performed on-site:
- Comprehensive Assessment
- Case Management
- Mental health counseling and referral
- Substance abuse education and Relapse Prevention
- Employability Enhancement
- Remedial Education/Tutoring
- On-site support groups
- Parenting Classes and Family Reunification Services
- Anger Management
- Cognitive Behavioral Interventions
